2006-11-21 [Duredhel]: UPDATE! - RoL is gonna go into a Hiatus till mid december. I'm going back home to Peru and I only have a month to take care of all my stuff in the states. So the roleplaying part will be paused for about a month, I'll still be taking characters for the open slots and working on the wiki though, anyone who wants to help with the wiki lemme know. 2007-01-04 [Duredhel]: UPDATE - AYE! So, I'm coming back, I'm borrowing a comp and have the time again to start working on RoL, RoLA will continue running as always, but RoL will go through a BIG change. Here's what's gonna happen, I'm going to close the parties that are being GMed by myself (maybe I'll keep one). From now on, here's how its gonna work, people will be in charge of organizing their own parties. Whenever people want to make a party, they need to gather a minimum of 3 players and a GM (anyone can be the GM). Then they just need to get in touch with me and I'll make a wiki for them. Their GM can ask me for any information, materials and stuff he wants, but other than that I will stay out of the party (besides moderating it a bit). Parties without a GM can ask someone to GM (including me) but the person they ask has the right to refuse.

2007-01-08 [Duredhel]: IMPORTANT UPDATE - From this moment on I declare RoL officially resumed! Now a pair of announcements before I go make the first general update of the year! First off, some people might have thought RoL had died or somesuch, it did not, I announced the hiatus, in any case its likely those people are not logging into elftown much these days, so if you know anyone like that, let them know RoL is back on (in person, phone, email, something!), I'd rather avoid mass dropage if possible, I'll also PM every single player to let them know. Second, I will NOT be dropping the parties as I had originally stated, for one the reaction here was not very favourable, so I spoke with Grengo and decided I'll keep the parties as they've been going, but I'll give players the option to form they're own parties whenever they want and appoint they're own GMs.

Third and this is IMPORTANT, RoL and RoLA need new blood, and badly. So for the next 3 months (might extend it if this works out well), everyone will get 500 XP for a RoLA character for each new player they bring in (after the new player has created an adecuate character and undergone a one week test period, that is). So you can mass level up your character by advertising RoL!!

I'd say especially the damage system and magic system work differently. There are no things such as skills and feat like in D&D. In RoL, they're just all skills, some of which require GM rolls to be made, some don't.

But then I started thinking about all the characters and cool storylines and ideas I still have for this place and decided to keep it open. Right now unfortunately I'm horribly swamped, I'm getting a job, going to university in Peru, looking for scolarships and taking classes. So I need some time to work my schedule. SO here's how its going to go. I need to know who is still interested in RoL, a big problem is all the dropouts in the RP. So I'll wait till March 10th. Anyone who has sent me a message saying they want to stay in RoL and RoLA till then, stay, anyone who hasn't, is dropped. Also, I'm going to organize a small team to train in all RoL related, if you're interested in it, lemme know.

2007-03-23 [Adaman]: For one, bullying Dur is not the answer. What could be an option is actually reading the rules he has set up, and then determining the mathematics by deductive reasoning. After all, Lemire rarely has any percents, multiplications, or divisions. Most of it is +1 or -1, how difficult could that be to figure out? Most of the information is provided among the links of Rules of Lemire. If Dur is going to retire from Lemire, it becomes free range for editing, I would think. Only limited by the fans of Lemire, of course.

So me coming back here is a big no no for at least this semester.. we'll have to see about next semester. A Lemire council, seems like it could work if you guys want to keep the RP. I'll be taking suggestions and making a decision of what will happen to my RP by the 30th. I would be able to compile a rulebook in PDF format with some help though (which I was gonna do at some point anyways just in case I ever wanted to comercialize RoL).

2007-03-31 [Blood Raven]: I have no problem with keeping two arenas or so updated. My suggestion for the RoLA is that the arenas are split up between the council, so they each have an active GM. Then one or two persons can keep the bulletin updated and make sure the quests are accounted for. One other person (who likes math or so) could do the shops. That way, everybody'd contribute something to the Arena, without everybody getting burnouts?

2007-04-01 [Duredhel]: You guys remember when i said I'd take suggestions & then make a decision? yeah.. that was fun. Seems as if you guys already decided. Well, this is how it'll go. The arena will work as you guys are saying, you guys will form a council to make the big decisions (tournaments, xp awards, etc, etc)& area will be assigned to someone (that person doesn't have to be in the council). For RoL, people who want to play will get together regardless of number & they'll pick a GM from amongst  themselves, then they'll add their party to Forth to Lemire and Characters of the Realms.
I'll give the people in the council & the GMs for the parties my email, AIM & msn so they can contact me if they need any information, materials or help.

I'll still be dropping in every now and then to update the rules, bestiary, etc, little by little. I'm not abandoning RoL, I just can't GM anymore.

1 point for each battle fought against another Player Character (wether you won or lost)
